Taimur Rashid was born on 12 May, 1982 in Dhaka. From a young age, he exhibited a keen interest in current affairs and storytelling. His curiosity about the world around him and a natural flair for communication laid the foundation for him future career in journalism. Taimur Rashid pursued a degree in Journalism from Dhaka University. During his academic years, he actively participated in various media-related activities, honing his skills in investigative reporting, news writing and multimedia storytelling. During academic course he regularly participate in ‘Boipatra’ a renowned programme on BTV. Upon graduating Taimur Rashid embarked on his journalism journey. From 2005 to 2006 he worked as Assistant News Producer at Channel i. After that he joined as a Reporter at Diganta Television. Then he joined Jamuna Television. From March 2010 he is working at Banglavision. For last more than two years he is working as Special Correspondent at Banglavision. As early assignments he covered local events and community issues, allowing them to develop a deep understanding of the region’s dynamics. For last 17 years he is doing journalism specially covering area on politics and diplomatic issues. In 2011 Taimur Rashid covered UN 66th General Assembly. He also travelled India, Japan, Saudi Arabia, UAE & Qatar to cover various international summit & bilateral visit of Prime minister of the government republic of Bangladesh. With a relentless pursuit of truth and a commitment to ethical journalism, Taimur Rashid quickly climbed the ranks. In 2010 Taimur Rashid caught the attention of Banglavision, one of the leading media houses in the region. Recognizing his exceptional talent and dedication to quality reporting, Banglavision welcomed Taimur Rashid as a Special Correspondent. From 2020 he is hosting Talkshow. Taimur Rashid has since become a specialist in specific political affairs, providing in-depth analysis and coverage on issues that matter to the audience. His distinctive storytelling style and ability to present complex topics in a compelling manner have set him apart in the world of broadcast journalism. During his career he took part at workshop on ‘Social Media Content Production’, from 06 to 08 March 2022, organised by BBC Media Action and Broadcast Journalist Center-BJC. He joined Workshop on ‘Public Interest Journalism’, from 27 to 28 October 2021, organised by BBC Media Action and Primed (Protecting Independent Media for Effective Development. Also attended workshop on strengthening objective coverage of the role of faith communities in SDGs’ on 29 October, 2022, organised by Centre for communication action Bangladesh C-cab. Over the years, Taimur Rashid has received Amcham Frontline Journalism Award. Whether reporting from the front lines of major events or conducting exclusive interviews with influential figures, Taimur Rashid continues to make a significant impact in the field. Beyond the newsroom, Taimur Rashid is known for his personal interests or hobbies.
